Phil Marcus Featured in Newsday
PHIL MARCUS was born March 24, 1921. He was raised in Brooklyn and attended The Cooper Union. He served in the Army, helping build an allied airstrip in China. In 1948, he married Muriel and had two daughters. Phil had a career as advertising director for a fine jewelry company. At 75, he earned a bachelor of arts at Queens College and then taught English as a second language until he was 98. He was widowed in 2017. He enjoys spending time in New Hyde Park with family and friends from the Alley Pond Striders.
